- Splash-proof goggles or face shields, jackets, and work gloves must be worn at all other times.
Batteries on charge produce Explosive Hydrogen Gas!
Connector cables can cause ELECTROCUTION.
Always turn-off charger BEFORE disconnecting the battery.
Turn-off all chargers when not in use – an explosion may occur if a “LIVE” charger is connected to a battery! Articles of any kind (which may act as electrical conductors) are never to be placed on (atop) batteries
Batteries must be cooled-down after charging, before re-installation into lift-trucks. - Hydrometer Readings
• Full Charge Approximately 1.280 (High Acid Count)
• Discharged = Approximately 1.140 (Low Acid Count) - For health and hygiene reasons, goggles and rubber/work gloves are not to be shared.
All appropriate employees are issued her/his own personal gear.
When opening cell caps for battery care & maintenance.
